Vocational
Evaluation Center
Helps persons to assess their interests, aptitudes and abilities
by evaluating them on a variety of tests. Evaluators provide
continual feedback on performance, assist in interpreting test
results and provide individualized career guidance.

Vocational
& Work Adjustment Training Program
Introduces basic work concepts to persons who have little work
experience or who have recently lost vision. Scheduled, paid
work assignments include industrial and maintenance tasks.

Office
Skills Training Programs
Offers comprehensive courses in a wide range of office procedures.
For persons who meet course prerequisites, advanced training
is available in telephone collections, customer service, word
processing and special computer applications.

Adaptive
Technology Center
Provides individualized assessment and training on state-of-the-art
computer equipment and adaptive devices. People with visual
impairments are able to experiment with a wide variety of adaptive
electronic devices, which can provide large print, Braille or
synthetic speech outputs. The Center puts technology to work
for people with visual impairments, improving their chances
for employment and advancing personal and educational goals.

Job
Readiness & Placement Program
Assists The Lighthouse's clients and other visually impaired
job applicants from the community, in finding, retaining or
upgrading employment. Placement specialists work with job seekers
both individually and in group sessions, and also visit local
businesses to develop job openings and to educate employers
regarding the benefits of hiring workers who are blind, visually
impaired or multi-disabled. Job Readiness & Placement can provide
on-the-job support to persons who require such assistance and
offers special programs for young persons and people who have
few job skills.
